This information footnotes reference "Mansfield's History of Dummerston, Vt. and V.S. Dummerston Vt. the certificate displayed below is courtesy of our cousin Kim Buck. Dolly's really first name may have been Doletha or Dorothy. Dolly's father was James Crowninshield and her mother was Sarah Whitree.

Artemas and Dolly Crowninshield had 5 children.
The first two children are thought to have died in early childhood, as there is no adult information found. We researched burials in the Dummerston, Vermont cemetery, but alas many of the head stones are missing or the writing is deteriorated over the many years. The question as to Chestmany's name has to do with legibility in original documents. After researching Dolly's family line, it may be that Chestmany was really Chesterfield, a boy named after one of Dolly's brothers John Chesterfield Crowninshield. This too may never be confirmed.

Chestmany (?) Wilder born Aug. 12, 1806 most likely in Dummerston.
